I just wanted to start by wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and have a wonderful New Year.
There have been some exciting new developments that have occurred within the last couple of weeks that have given me a great spring board moving forward into 2014.
I have recently spent the last 16 days in Spain, at a resort called La Cala near Mijas, a venue at which the Alps Tour Qualifying School was held. This took place from the 12-18th December consisting of a 1st and Final Stage of qualifying on two courses called the Asia and the America.
I am happy to report that after a lot of practice and good preparation, I finished T4th at 1st stage (-3) and went on to finish T20th at Final Stage (-3) which secured me my full Alps Tour card for 2014. Overall there were 74 players on each course at 1st Stage and another 150 that competed at Final Stage. A total of nearly 240 different players took part, so to finish so high up and to gain my full playing rights for next year is a great achievement.
All those players who finished inside the top 35 have gained their full card and the aim of competing on the Alps Tour is to finish inside the Top 5 on the Order of Merit next year so as to gain full playing rights on the Challenge Tour for 2015. This is a huge confidence boost and a great stepping stone for me to gain the experience I need for competing at the highest level.
The Alps Tour schedule will be posted in early January 2014 and will feature in countries such as Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Egypt, Austria and many more.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support. It has given me the start I’ve needed this year to progress to the next level. I can safely say that without your help, I wouldn’t have had these opportunities presented to me.
On that note, I’m signing off on a very successful 2013 and can’t begin to thank you enough for all your continued support.
I hope to see you soon up at Castle Royle but until then,
Happy Golfing and Kindest Regards,
