Throughout the end of July and much of August, Tom has been practicing hard and keeping things in check ready for the sprint finish at the end of the golf season. With his position currently at 52nd on the Alps Tour Order of Merit and 4-5 events left to be played, his main goal is to finish within the Top 50 to regain his card for next year.
Tom played a foursomes event with Jules Tarr at Calcot Park on the 12th August, a rather unique format between a women’s amateur and men’s professional. On a blustery day, Tom and Jules managed to finish in 5th place after an unfortunate double bogey down the last. They finished just two shots from a victory but had a very enjoyable day also having been paired with Sally Collier and her good friend and professional Adam Taylor.
European Tour Qualifying School is also beckoning with Tom entering and playing his 1st Stage venue at Hardelot Golf Club off the northern coast of France from 23-26th September. His next tournament will be The PDC and World Snooker Open Championship at The Oxfordshire from the 27th- 29th of August.
So far things have been going well for Tom in his rookie season as he looks to build upon these experiences to go on and contend for the last few titles in the season. He is looking forward to seeing many of the Castle Royle Members out on the 24th August for Nick and Sally’s Captains Charity Day where he will once again take on the “Beat the Pro” challenge in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Foundation.
