On Wednesday 26th – Thursday 27th March Tom competed in the 1st stage of EuroPro Tour Qualifying School.
There were 4 qualifiers situated around the country and he chose to compete at Woldingham in Surrey as it was nearest. With 96 players competing and 49 spots available it seemed like a good opportunity to springboard onto Final Stage of Q School.
Both days proved to be cold and windy with temperatures barely reaching the upper echelons of single digits. After struggling to get a score going on Day 1, Tom posted a 74 (+3). This was largely due to course management errors, which after some analysis, were not made again. However that left him with some work to do as he was outside the cut line at T53rd.
Proving his experience Tom then went onto post a 69 (-2) on Day 2 which catapulted him up the leaderboard to finish T15th and qualify for Final Stage comfortably.
Tom will now be competing at Final Stage of EuroPro Q School to be held at Frilford Heath Golf Club on Wednesday 2nd – Friday 4th April with the hopes to obtain full playing rights on the EuroPro Tour this season. This will give him full cards on both the Alps Tour and the EuroPro, ultimately giving two separate avenues to potentially graduate onto the Challenge Tour.
