Since April 5th, Tom has been in the US honing his game and playing a number of notable and famous golf courses. He started his trip in Myrtle Beach staying with two long term supporters of his golf career, Richard and Jules Tarr.
Through their generosity of allowing Tom to use their home in Myrtle Beach as a base, he played 7 separate golf courses in the week he was there which varied in lengths and style. This was great preparation for what he’ll face on The Alps Tour this year.
From there Tom travelled town to watch Tyrrell (Hatton) play the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town in Hilton Head. It was about a 3 hour drive south of Myrtle Beach and spent Sunday (16th April) cheering him on. He and his wife Becky then hopped on a private plane with Tyrrell and his partner Emily back to Orlando where Tyrrell has been basing himself while playing the PGA Tour circuit.
During his week in Orlando, Tom was able to practice at the Leadbetter Academy at Championsgate. The facilities were as good as they get and they even allowed him to do some testing in the Trackman bay to get some numbers.
Throughout the week Tom also met up with fellow Castle Royle member (blast form the past) Matt Collis who was instrumental in sorting out two amazing rounds of golf at both Bay Hill Country Club and Lake Nona. (A thanks must go to Simon an Gigi Davison as well)
All in all, the trip was a fantastic opportunity, all made possible thanks to Finura Partners who helped fund the trip. There is no doubt when looking back at the 2017 season, this trip will have proven to be a big part of any success Tom experiences!
